Richard Cantu for at-large 3

I have known Richard Cantu since the late 1980s or early 1990s. He is a good person with a good heart.
We have not always agreed on which person to support in the elections, but that is to be expected, after all no-one woke up and made me god.
Richard lost his daughter to gun violence and he is proponent of ending such needless killing of our children.
Firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teens (ages 1 to 19) in the United States. Every year, 19,000 children and teens are shot and killed or wounded and approximately 3 million are exposed to gun violence. From Everytown

From Richard Cantu’s website;
Our neighborhoods should be clean and safe, and it takes leadership to make it happen! The neighborhoods that have problems with dumping also have some of the worst crime problems. I will tap into my three decades of positive relationships with community leaders, law enforcement, educators, faith leaders, and businesses, to continue to bring results to neighborhoods across the city!
The loss of Aleksis has been the hardest thing our family has ever dealt with, and we wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone! I know in my heart that Aleksis would want me to do everything possible to make a difference in our neighborhoods and for our youth so that families don’t continue to suffer. We will honor Aleksis’ memory by continuing to work to end gun violence!
While I don’t believe that we will ever pry guns away from people, I strongly believe that we need strong gun laws to prevent so many needless death.
