All the vile names that Trump and many of his followers have heaped on people that look like me or come from south of the border, and the editorial board of the Chronicle can’t find even a very soft voice to say anything, but let Fuentes say something about Jews. They get all wound up and attack the message and the messenger.
I don’t know any of the editorial board members, so I have no idea about their religion or preferred sex partners. I am entitled to an opinion as to why they retort to some things and not others.
Fuentes’ vile politics run the gamut of xenophobia. For his supporters to suggest that he is being accused of antisemitism for making legitimate criticisms of the Israeli government is absurd. Fuentes is a Holocaust denying, anti-LGBT, misogynistic racist who worships Adolf Hitler and admires Joseph Stalin. Yet his hateful rhetoric has found a home among an online community of provocateurs known as “groypers,” who have made a name for themselves by shouting down conservative speakers and protesting public events.

Evan Mintz, the Chron’s Editor for Opinion and Community Engagement, is all MAGA this morning. They have a cartoon at the bottom of the editorial page of the Chron hard copy of the New York City Mayor-Elect with the Democratic Party name with a hammer and sickle embedded in the image. I expect better from Evan. A lot of great patriotic Americans from across the country were cheering for Zohran Mamdani. He was the nominee of the Democratic Party. Evan must have put a dose of dumbarse in his cereal yesterday morning. POS cartoon for sure.
The Houston Chronicle should try getting some straight Latinos or Latinas, not some Latinx that would fit right in. If they are there, give them a voice at the table.
Had never listened to Nick Fuentes, but I did listen to part of the interview he had with Carlson. I have also often wondered why the Jews get to have dual loyalties, and it is widely accepted here in America. I am an American first, second, only an American; there should be no loyalty to any other country. Yet, I am still sometimes asked where I am from. One time, I was asked, and I told them Here, Texas. They then asked, “Where are your parents from?” “Here, Texas.” They then persisted well, at one point, you must have been Mexican. I didn’t answer; I asked him where he was from. He said, “Here, the United States.” I then asked him where his parents were from, and he told me the Middle East. I replied I guess you are an Arab. He got so mad that he stormed out of the room.
