HPD says they found him, but will not name the police agency that found the child, and turn that young child over to ICE. How can the Hispanic community trust the police when even reporting a missing child who cannot speak or does not speak English runs the risk of disappearing while in the hands of the people who are supposed to be there to protect and serve?
My youngest child is autistic and did not utter a word until he was seven years old. He is now in his thirties, and he and I spend every day and hour together. He is what they call a runner; he escaped numerous times. All it would take was a brief moment for him to disappear. When he was first diagnosed as autistic, the world was starting to find out about these special people. I often thought about a leash, but I would have been reported to the police for child abuse. I had locks on all the doors that needed keys to open from the inside. I had alarms on all the windows.
As hard as that was, how much harder it would have been if Trump had been in office now and we had police officers turning children who spoke Spanish or did not speak English over to ICE. Not only was he turned over to ICE, but they also failed to notify the parents. I am sure that there was an alert out for a missing autistic child. What makes people so heartless is the color of the child’s skin, the determining factor? It certainly seems to be for Trump’s wife, who is working to reunite Ukrainian children, but wore a jacket that said ask me if I care “about children being separated by her spouse.
This land used to be populated by people who look just like those “Mexicans” they want to get rid of from this country, as the Trumps of the world don’t want to turn America brown. Well, my shade of brown is a hell of a lot better than the orange paint that Trump sprays himself with.
I guess it is better than it used to be when the Texas Rangers and other evil people would hang Mexicans by the thousands.
