I am beginning to like the Houston Chronicle because it is standing up for the immigrant community. No other media, at least major media, is doing so. So what did the Chronicle write today? It is not behind a paywall.
Organizations that label themselves like LULAC, that claim they are here to help Hispanics, are cowering in a corner, too afraid to come out, as they depend on limosna to survive and at least feel important among themselves. The officers get invited to the parties and hang out with “Important” people. They mingle with the politicians, who may think that support from such organizations will bring them votes.
Why isn’t LULAC standing up and shouting about what is occurring? Por Que?
I don’t support illegal immigration. I did not support the amnesty. I am not even in favor of allowing DREAMERS the right to citizenship. But like Dr. Hector Garcia and Cesar Chavez, who found out during Operation Wetback that we, legal Mexicans, look just like the illegal Mexicans. So they did a 180-degree switch on supporting Operation Wetback.

What is happening to Hispanics is wrong, the masked men, the terror they create within the Hispanic Community, legal and otherwise. Because most of us know that ICE or the police cannot tell the difference between someone here legally and someone not here legally.
When my grandson asked to use my vehicle, a 2024 Ram Laramie, I hesitated because I know that ICE and whoever is looking for Mexicans look at people driving Pea-cups (Pickups). I did, but then I talked to him about driving while Mexican. Very similar to driving while Black.
The phrase “driving while Mexican” is a term used to describe the racial profiling of individuals perceived to be of Hispanic or Latino descent by law enforcement, particularly regarding traffic stops and immigration enforcement. It is a variation of the term “driving while Black” (DWB).
Racial Profiling
The term refers to situations in which traffic stops, detentions, or searches are conducted not based on evidence of criminal activity or a traffic violation, but rather on preconceptions about a person’s race or ancestry. These actions have been reported near U.S. borders and even in major metropolitan areas farther inland.
But even though it was an excellent truck that had not given me any trouble, I chose to trade it in for a Jeep. He was much less likely to be pulled over for driving while Mexican. He is now in the military, but until the racist people who are running our government are out of office, Mexican-looking people need to keep looking over their shoulder.
Below is an example that was sent to the Leader of the GI Forum; the same kind of people are now running our government, both the state and federal government. Compare to how John Whitmire does the same thing by claiming that FIEL and the mother are only seeking public attention. It would surprise me if he were any different from the author of the message below.
The reference to Mr. Kennedy refers to the funeral director who refused to bury a soldier who had died while serving our country in WWII.
Private Felix Longoria was killed in battle fighting the Japanese during World War II. But when his body was sent home to Three Rivers, Texas, the town’s only funeral parlor refused to allow his family to use their chapel because “the whites wouldn’t like it.” The incident sparked national outrage and brought together two savvy political leaders, Senator Lyndon Johnson and Dr. Hector Garcia.
