I really enjoyed reading the Houston Chronicle’s editorial on Venezuela until the last paragraph. They went into the land of alternative reality that only MAGAs seem to enjoy.
So thoroughly enjoyed the quote, have to share:
“The famed political operative went on to trash Congress and the Supreme Court for — in his view — effective ceding their powers to Trump.
“The Congress, they just sit there with one thumb up their a**, and one in their mouth, and they switch every 30 seconds,” Carville said. He added, “And this Supreme Court, you gotta follow it. But never, ever respect it.”
I don’t write too much about Trump because tomorrow he will say or do something stupid; he can’t seem to help himself.
There’s no turning back the clock on what the Trump administration has started. Now they must see it through — with plans to secure a future peace and answer Americans’ questions about why we’re there in the first place.
Trump and his goonies
Do as we say, or we will kill you, capture you, and put you in prison.
The United States will provide a vision for how Venezuela should be run and will expect the interim government to carry that out in a transition period, under the threat of further military intervention.
There are no boots on the ground.
We don’t have an ambassador in Venezuela. He is in Bogota, Colombia.
So, basically, we’re telling whoever winds up in charge to do as we say, or we capture and try you for crimes, or kill you. We will keep doing that until someone sensible comes to power.
That has not worked in Iran.
That did not work in Yemen.
Whoever follows Maduro should sit it out; the man-child will soon get bored and move on to something else. I would venture that since he took over the two golf courses in DC, we will devote whatever waking hours he manages to doing that, and maybe the completion of the monstrosity of a ballroom.
Maybe Trump will release Maduro if money is paid and Maduro promises to become a lackey for Trump.
