Some actors should do at what they are good at, remembering lines.

While reading what Charlie Sheen had to say about the Super Bowl halftime show, I came across something that wasn’t true.

Why Charlie Sheen believed halftime acts should match the game

During the same Club Random conversation, Sheen expanded on why he feels the halftime show should be closely tied to the nature of the event.

He added: “There’s bands, acts, people that I think are more germane to the experience of the game, that moment, that particular game. It’s the biggest game in the universe, that’s played.”

Sorry, Charlie, it is not the biggest game in the universe; it is not even close.

The Super Bowl consistently draws over 100 million viewers in the U.S., with the 2025 game (Super Bowl LIX) setting a record average of 127.7 million viewers across television and streaming platforms. It is the most-watched annual television event in the United States, with total reach sometimes exceeding 200 million when including casual viewers and international audiences.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France was watched by an estimated

1.5 billion viewers worldwide. This record-breaking figure represents a significant portion of the global population, confirming its status as the most-watched sporting event on the planet.

  • Total Reach: FIFA estimates indicate the final reached 1.42 to 1.5 billion people, including viewers across linear TV, digital streaming, and out-of-home viewing.
  • Tournament Audience: An estimated 5 billion people tuned in to the entire 2022 tournament in Qatar.

I don’t watch sports, but I have seen a few World Cup Finals. I don’t recall the last time I watched a Super Bowl. American football is boring, four hours to play one hour, and basketball and baseball are not any better.
