Thirty-Eight Trips Around Jericho
According to the Old Testament, the Israelites marched around Jericho for seven days. On the seventh day, they circled the city seven times. The trumpets sounded. The people shouted. The walls came tumbling down.
President Trump has now declared the Iran war ended thirty-eight times.
Perhaps he is waiting for the walls to fall.
The trouble is that Iran is not Jericho, press conferences are not trumpets, and declaring a war over does not make the enemy disappear.
Then use the endless-war illustration and finish simply:
The walls remain standing. We keep marching in circles.
