They may be closer to being right, as it seems that Israel has the United States willing to fight in a war it began.
We will give Israelis about $40,000 for each man, woman, and child in the country this year, mostly in weapons but also in money. Trump doesn’t want to help Americans after emergencies, like hurricanes and fires, but has no qualms about handing out hundreds of billions of dollars to a country that could lead us to war. Something is not right. Iran can’t hurt us, China can, why are we wasting resources on Israel? Iran can’t hurt us, Russia can. Why are we wasting resources on Israel?
We could not stop the Houthis after spending hundreds of millions on bombing them. What makes Trump think we can do that to Iran?
President Donald Trump has inched closer to ordering military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, approving operational attack plans while stopping short of authorizing an attack, The Wall Street Journal reported.
So why should we risk our young men’s lives for a country that has never supported us?
Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, a war that lasted 27 years. Our debt is already too high, and now Trump wants to start another war and send our young men and women to fight for Israel? Why?
It is often claimed that Israel is America’s “greatest ally” in the Middle East. In fact, the relationship between Israel and America is perhaps the closest relationship between two countries in modern history. The US provides unprecedented political and military support to Israel, much of which is without any conditions.
Despite this, it is my understanding that Israel has not assisted the US in any of its major military confrontations in the Middle East since the end of the Cold War. These include, for instance, the first and second Iraq Wars, the War in Afghanistan and the operations against ISIS. This is despite many of America’s other more distant allies (e.g., France, Britain, Canada, to name a few), some of which have a weaker military than the IDF, being allies in these wars.
It is interesting to note that for some of these wars, notably the Iraq War, Israeli officials were actively goading Washington into invading, but did not actively partake in hostilities during the war.
I am seeking an answer which could explain some reasons for this.
So why should we risk our young men’s lives for a country that has never supported us?
