The Pain in Trump Country

They vote to lower taxes on billionaires whose only worry is where to buy another home or a three-hundred-foot yacht. They don’t want the freeloader to get anything from the federal government when they fail to look in the mirror to realize that they may be the free loaders.

They don’t think about moving away from their family or friends to help themselves and their families, but they badmouth people who walk thousands of miles to get here to toil from sunup to sundown to make a living. Those jobs are now becoming available, but Americans are not rushing to fill those positions. Farmers are destroying crops due to a lack of people to pick them.

Their ancestors risked their lives to cross an ocean and worked sunup to sundown to tame a wilderness and make this country the greatest country in the world. But that country I love seems to have a captain who is determined to steer it toward the giant iceberg and sink the ship and everyone aboard it.

Okies swarmed to California during the Dust Bowl; they did not stay to starve to death or wait for God to come and help them. They helped themselves by moving and doing what was necessary, not just to survive, but also to prosper.

We have a person who is gloating about his wealth as Americans starve. He sends billions to Argentina to help a billionaire hedge fund owner. Americans are suffering; even many of our men and women who serve in the military stand in hours-long lines to get food to feed their families. Something is rotten, and people who think Trump will make things better are in for a rude awakening.

Below is what one of the U.S. senators had to say about the residents of West Virginia.

“West Virginia is a poor state and dependent on federal jobs and handouts. The pain to the elderly, the disabled and to children could be catastrophic. ” Source
