Most, if not all, politicians in DC are full of it. If they genuinely cared about poor people, they would not be politicians; they would be working to help those in need in their neighborhoods and on the streets, not as politicians.
That includes all the local politicians; they pretend to care, but most, if not all, of them don’t give a shit.
The one group that will be hurt the most is the people who are here illegally and those who are not citizens. The second group will be many who rely on Medicaid for health coverage. Wait till those old people want to be taken care of in a home courtesy of Medicaid. They may find out that it won’t happen. Children don’t vote, so it does not matter.

Medicaid began on July 30, 1965, when President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Social Security Amendments of 1965, which also established Medicare, according to the National Archives (.gov). Amazing what I learned from my mother about managing various illnesses without consulting a doctor. One would be surprised what Vicks can fix. Aspirin is also a magic pill. Regular bowel movements meant that every so often, we would get an Ex-Lax, and raisins were part of our diet.
Honestly, we may have become overly pampered in this country. So people will manage one way or another.
Tighten your belts, buy only what is necessary and what you can afford, and get rid of those credit cards. If you can’t pay them in full every month, get rid of them.
My grandfather on my mother’s side had two children who were mentally challenged. His family would tell him that they qualified for Social Security, he would tell them that they were his children, and as long as he was alive, he would take care of them, not the government.
