Workshop raids, jobs that Americans should be doing.

Short-term is undoubtedly not good for the people who are being apprehended, nor for the companies that hired them. Long term, it may be beneficial for both groups, although the companies may ultimately have to pay more. There will probably still be a corrupt system in Mexico where people who arrange for the people to come here get a good upfront fee (legal corruption, if a coyote does it, it is illegal).

Hundreds of undocumented immigrants apprehended in massive ICE raid at Hyundai plant in Georgia

Hundreds of undocumented immigrants were apprehended during a sweeping immigration raid at a Georgia manufacturing facility Thursday, marking what appears to be one of the largest ICE raids at a single site in the 22-year history of the agency.

About 450 people were apprehended as several law enforcement agencies descended on the Hyundai Metaplant site in Ellabell, about 25 miles west of Savannah, officials said, in the latest example of the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration at workplaces across the country.

Much of that is BS, as it’s unrealistic to keep producing, since the vast majority of such property isn’t located near the centers where developers want to build homes. It is just a way to keep the rich on land, thus maintaining landowners’ wealth without having to pay their fair share of taxes. But still, you always find them out there with their hand sticking out, looking to be bailed out by the state or federal government.

Americans will work hard if the pay is there and the bulk of the wealth is not channeled to the owners of the companies.

We should feel as sorry for small farmers as we do for the mom and pop stores that are forced out of business by the Walmarts of this world.
