White progressives seem as excited about Talarico as they were with Wendy Davis, and we saw how that ended. Is Talarico different? Will he catch fire and take Texas by storm as Beto O’Rourke did a few years back?

He speaks well and certainly knows how to answer questions, as evidenced by the video below.
I do read a lot, especially regarding politics, and I don’t recall ever seeing his name. All of a sudden, he is the fire-breathing dragon that will burn away the competition. I don’t think so.
Talarico has raised a substantial amount of money, but who provided him with such a large sum in such a short time? Was it the rich that he says he will be fighting for the benefit of the working men and women? Suppose that money, or a substantial part of it, came from wealthy elites. In that case, I don’t expect him to be any different from any other politician, including the Washington Democrats that he mentions in the video above.
Talarrico says he won’t take PAC money, but I wonder how he describes PAC money. Below is a chart of the money raised for his last State Representative Race.

It is too early to pick a candidate, because if either O’Rourke or Crockett jumps in, they will probably be my choice, especially since I am leery of anyone who preaches or counts so much on religion for their support. I have had enough of the Republican Christians.
Talarico does have check marks on all the progressive issues, abortion, trans, gay. On immigration he kind of stayed on a gray area, not really saying much. Here in Texas it seems that all politicians are afraid to get into immigration. My two cents on that are that things are changing and those that don’t take a stand may miss out on getting the largest group of potential Democratic voters.
