If the answer is no, then they need to stop their whining and start thinking about what they can do next November.
If every Hispanic who votes in the coming primaries next year for only Hispanic Democratic Candidates, the Democratic Party would notice.
Here in Harris County, the Gay community has considerable influence and power in the Democratic Party. That influence was not given to them; they worked hard to get it and keep working to keep it. Think about how a relatively small group of people got so much influence. If you don’t want to think about it, then let me tell you they got involved, they vote, they work hard to get voters out, and to support their candidates. When I say ‘work,’ I don’t mean they get paid; they volunteer their time. What did you do? Did you even bother to convince your friends who are citizens and can vote to vote against the Republicans?

“When I did hear the news of my tuition going up — and when I actually saw my tuition going up — I don’t know, I was scared, I was confused,” Zamaripa said. “It wasn’t until afterward that I was mad, that it happened just to us. I thought it was unfair. I’m just trying to get an education, you know, better myself.”
It’s proved a triple threat for many would-be Texas college students — the loss of in-state tuition, plus Texas’ refusal to issue new work permits for immigrants under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, and the fear and stress of the unprecedented crackdown on immigration under the Trump Administration.
Efren Olivares, vice president of litigation and legal strategy at the National Immigration Law Center, said that some students may feel pushed out of higher education altogether, although he hopes that many will still try.
It is not just the DACAs who stood by and did nothing to help themselves; many of the TPS holders did the same —nothing. I don’t feel sorry for people who don’t do anything to help themselves. Up until recently, many of the people here, undocumented, had college opportunities that I didn’t have. Civil Rights were won, not given to us, and now we have an administration full of racists and fascists that want to take that away from us, but first they need to get rid of all those brown skinned people who are not citizens.
Stop your whining and start planning how you can turn things around. It does not take a vast number to change things; it just takes a small number of very dedicated persons.
Below is something I wrote back in August 2024. That is me as a MAYO activist working to make things better. I have knocked on thousands of doors over the course of my life. MAYO – Mexican-American Youth Organization. I was also a member of the Raza Unida Party.
