Two people from my past recently recorded some songs, Rolando Contreras and Danny Noyola.

Didn’t realize that we had so many talented people in the barrio (Molina), Corpus Christi, Texas, where I grew up. I wanted to be a singer until I heard myself sing at about 15 years of age, and that was the end of that dream. One person told me that even my whistling was out of tune.

Hope I am not violating any copyright rules by posting an old friend’s song on my news/blog. I have a fairly large international audience, probably because I make my writing readable via Google Translate. I don’t know if the song will play or if you have to sign up for Spotify. They ask for your email and will follow you online like everyone else. I don’t follow, and I don’t track people.

If you clicking on the play button you will hear the entire song, or go to Spotify.

Danny Noyola is younger than me. I knew his older brother, Marcos. Marcos and I were in the same grade in school. We took Algebra together. Danny talks about being married for over 50 years. I recall telling my mother on my parents’ 50th anniversary that I doubted I would make it to 50 years of marriage, but I could wind up getting married 50 times. So congratulations, Danny.
