Keeping it short, as my memory is suffering from too many movies, many of which are not worth watching.
The following is what has been making the headlines:
Yesterday, the New York Times reported that Trump’s team had worked out a proposed memorandum with Iran. The terms, as reported, were jaw-dropping. The United States would release approximately $25 billion in frozen Iranian assets. Iran would open the Strait of Hormuz while retaining control over the chokepoint. The U.S. naval blockade would be lifted. And negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, which Trump has repeatedly called the whole point of this conflict (after abandoning his initial objectives of freeing the Iranian people from regime rule), would be deferred to some future conversation that may or may not ever happen.
The following is how it would look.
