As to the governor Texas thinking that Trump would even consider him for Vice-President, he only has to watch the following short video of what Trump thinks of people like him.
Give Texas what it wants, let them control the border.
First, take away all those National Guards and federalize them. Transfer all the border patrol to other border states. Texas can use all of its’ DPS Troopers and other state police agencies to control the border.
If any other states send their National Guards, federalize them also, and consider sending them to Ukraine to help stop the communist take over of that country.
If all those MAGA people want to help pay, they can send their money to Texas rather than to their cult leader.
MAGA fascists have only one issue to run on, and that is immigration; they are not interested in solving the problem. They can’t run on the economy. Biden has one of the best economic records in modern history. Unlike the orange Jesus, Biden has added jobs; Trump left with losing more jobs than existed when he entered office. One has to go back to Herbert Hoover to match that record.
If the governor of Texas wanted to help control “Illegals” in the state, he could have done so and asked the legislature to make E-verify the law of the state. Arizona did that. Everyone, including all those contractors that do work for the state, would have all contractors and their employees E-verified. Make it universal for all state residents, and make sure that everyone working on one’s yard is here legally, with no exceptions.
The fascists, aka Republicans, are not interested in solutions. They are interested in power and its’ ability to enrich themselves and their friends.
Biden could do like Trump, take money from one source and use it elsewhere, take all the money going to Texas for highways and divert it toward border control. If that is not sufficient, I am sure that other sources could be raided.
Biden could order the closing of Bases located in the fascist areas of the state.
