Today is Memorial Day. Below is an image of a Vietnam Memorial in Molina, a Corpus Christi, Texas neighborhood. Eight young men gave their lives for this country during the Vietnam conflict. I knew seven of them; two were best friends, boys I grew up with and hung around with.
I often recall Willie, Guillermo Davila, and Joe, Jose Trejo not just on Memorial Day.
Molina was and is a small neighborhood where one knew almost everyone. It is a neighborhood that believes in service to our country. All those young men volunteered.
