Radios and emergencies

When I discovered that Hurricane Beryl might be heading our way, I got my radio out and installed new batteries to keep up with what was happening, as I was reasonably sure I would lose power.

We were without power for ten days, but the radio was useless. I could not find a station to keep me abreast of what was happening. I used to have a battery-powered TV a long time ago; I may have to consider repurchasing one, assuming they still sell them, as it seems radios are a thing of the past for emergencies.

Where have all the brains gone? The TV that my better half keeps on almost 24 hours a day never fails to startle me when the emergency testing goes off, as it seems to be at least twice as loud as it was during the show.

The other option is that everyone purchases a generator so that you can hook the essential things, like the TV, when the power goes out. We don’t want to miss our sports or novelas do we?

I wondered why I no longer see those signs indicating which Radio channel to turn to in case of emergencies. AM frequencies are so outdated that they are considering no longer producing AM radios for vehicles. The other option is to sell those frequencies for cellular phones.

I am unsure why I included the image below as it has nothing to do with emergencies, but I will leave it there. I was thinking of how the MAGAs could have the white babies they so much want.
