I supported and voted for newly elected State Representative Lauren Simmons. One of the reasons that I supported Simmons was because the previous state representative had problems responding to my emails to her office.
Well, Ms. Simmons, you failed the first test. I’m not sure there will be others, but rest assured that you will never receive my vote again, and I will try to convince others to skip your name when we vote.
I was spoiled by the Republicans who have represented this precinct. Former Commissioner Steve Radack would call you back, not one of his staff members. Our present commissioner, Leslie Briones, can’t even contact her, and her staff does a terrible job responding to questions. As one lifelong Democrat recently told me, why do we keep voting for them if they won’t respond or do anything to help us? Steve Radack wasn’t the only one who always responded; Phil Gramm, Bill Archer, and even Ted Cruz staff do a good job of responding to my emails. What is wrong with the Democrats is that they forget that ordinary people are the ones who vote for them in hopes that they will do something to make their lives better.
