The Roofer that got away from ICE.

You won’t find this in the 200 million dollar commercials that Trump is paying for.

The video is in Spanish. So I will write a short version of what occurred.

ICE went to a work site where the immigrants were working on the roof of a house. One of the immigrants refused to get down, and they begged him to, but he refused. He stated that he looked at the shoes they were wearing and determined they would not be able to go up on the roof to get him. So he decided to wait them out. After several hours, the ICE officers went to their car to wait. The roofer jumped from the roof and ran to a wooded area where they could not find him. The roofer has gull as he interviewed with a reporter from Univision.

He is from Guatemala and walked thousands of miles to get here. I don’t blame him for not wanting to be forced back after making so much sacrifice to come here to work. I did some roofing, and that was very difficult and demanding work, with always the danger of falling.

I imagine that ICE will work hard to locate him.

I worked in construction in the 1960s and early 1970s, primarily in building apartments. It was fairly common for ICE to show up, and you could see people running in all directions, most of them would get away. Roofing is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.
