So, Latinos pushing for Latinos is identity politics; I find that amusing coming from a political party almost 90% white.

I am supporting the Non-Latino as he has done a tremendous job helping our neighborhood, which is primarily Latino.
The Republican blog opened my eyes to why certain people were donating to him. It has to do with preparation for a lawsuit against the city. By showing that the candidate had sufficient money, they can argue that Latinos can’t win even when they are well funded. Sandra Rodriguez raised sufficient money last time and lost. I think that she did not run a good campaign. My wife and I vote every election, including run-offs, and yet did not receive any literature from her campaign.
