I don’t watch Spanish TV, but my wife does, and when Whitmire’s latest commercial came out, I told myself that the commercial did not ring true. I had not written about that. It may have been me overthinking the commercial. But, yesterday, someone came to my house and brought up the commercial by stating that he sees Whitmire as a racist and that he must believe that we “Hispanics” are stupid if he expects us to believe that commercial.
The commercial is a young Latina who claims that she was undocumented and working for John Whitmire and that he helped her become a lawyer and made her American dream come true.
Did John Whitmire really have someone that is undocumented working in his office?
Second, how did she become a citizen?
How did he help her become a lawyer?
Too many details are missing from that commercial.
Predications
Mayor, a funny thing happened on the way to the finish; the desire to release polls disappeared. Since the people who were putting out the polls were pro-Whitmire, it suggests that the race is too close to call. Whitmire must bring out all the racists and white progressives back out to vote. I think that some of the white progressives may be having second thoughts on Whitmire. The more Whitmire has to do to appeal to Democrats, the more he loses those MAGA people. He has what is called a conundrum.
Sheila Jackson-Lee has one goal to accomplish, bring out the Black vote out in higher percentages that they voted the first time around. If she can do that she will win the election.

Controller- Chris Hollins has the clear advantage. I expect him to win. Orlando needs Latinos to come back out to vote for him; I don’t see that happening. I expect that, like most previous elections, they will stay home and say it does not matter who wins; it will remain the same.
At-Large 1, Melanie Miles should easily win this.
At-Large-2, Advantage to Willie Davis.
At-Large-3, I hope Cantu wins and that will happen if the black community notices that his opponent’s name is typical white name.
At-Large 4- Ms. Plummer should easily return to the position she won four years ago.
