I couldn’t help but smile as I read an article in the Houston Chronicle regarding how our new mayor will judge crime.
“Houston Mayor John Whitmire said after meeting with local law enforcement that he wouldn’t debate crime statistics, which generally show a recent decrease in Houston, but that he’d judge his tenure as mayor based on whether people felt safer by the end of it.”
Now, children, if I tell you that crime is down and you are safe, your property is safe, believe me.
When they say that someone was murdered, they are not telling the truth; the media is just creating headlines.
When they broke into your car, it didn’t happen. It was the neighbor’s lawnmower that threw a stone and broke the window.
Where do I often read about someone telling us not to believe what we saw but what he tells us? Hint: he has an orange tint.
Trash Collection
For months now, we had our bins collected in a timely manner; today, as I look out front, the recycle bin is still out there. I sure hope that is not how Whitmire will run the city.
