Is Edward Pollard going to run against lina Hidalgo?

Off the Kuff suggested in one of his posts that Council Member Pollard may run against Lina Hidalgo in 2025.

We return once again to the question of What Is Ed Pollard Doing With All That Money? Your guess is as good as mine. I hesitate to say this for fear of speaking it into existence, but I suppose one possibility is a run for County Judge next year. If he has any plans to run for something else, he’ll need to keep them to himself for the time being because of the resign-to-run requirements that came with the four-year terms on Council. The same is true for the other members of Council with six-figure balances. Everyone on that list except for new Controller Chris Hollins is now in their second and final term, so there’s also the option of running for Mayor in 2027. Let’s just say that’s getting waaaaaaaaaay ahead of ourselves and leave it at that. Source

Not sure if that is correct but his recent action suggests he may or may not.

He may, as he has come out strongly for the minority affirmative action program for the City of Houston.

However, if he is unwilling to stand up to the Republican leadership a la Lina Hidalgo he will have trouble getting support of the hard core Democrats that actually do most of block walking and work needed to get elected. Don’t under estimate them, look no further than at State Rep seat 146. where the incumbent came in behind one of the challengers and is now in a run-off.

Or consider this group that has been protesting weekly for 374 weeks, or over seven years: Those are the type of people that would be working to help County Judge Hidalgo as she stands up to the Republicans. They don’t think much of Pollard’s politics of working with the present day Republicans, the MAGAs.
