The man, John Whitmire, is in his mid-seventies, he ain’t going to change how he perceives the world, in my opinion he is a MAGA creature that masquerades as a Democrat to maintain a position of power.
There may be exceptions to all those Latino leaders who endorsed him and did commercials for him are peons who owe their position to Whitmire.
The mayor did attempt to defend his words;
“I will match my record with immigrants with anyone. It’s a calling, I care, and if you want to use misrepresentations for your political purposes, have at it, but the public knows better,” Whitmire said, addressing Pollard. Source
Bullshit, I am part of the public, and Whitmire, in my opinion, has always been a racist.
Whitmire claims to be working with County Commissioner Briones. Briones is new to the area, but she may be susceptible to the guiles and promises of money from the MAGA rich.
“I’m working with the county commissioner to give basic service to the Gulfton area, so there’s a time to campaign, and there’s a time to go to work. You choose the campaign method, that’s fine. I want to go to work,” Whitmire told Pollard on Wednesday. Source
Like many of the countries that created empires by conquest, Whitmire is playing divide and conquer, and the winner will be the MAGA party.
The people Whitmire has backed recently have not done so well in winning their races. It is happening in the background.
