Recently, Abbott signed an executive order that requires that hospitals submit medical costs of undocumented persons.
Harris County officials on Friday encouraged immigrants lacking permanent legal status to continue seeking medical care at local hospitals, despite Gov. Greg Abbott’s order directing the state health agency to begin collecting information on the cost of providing services to them.
Under Abbott’s executive order, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission will instruct hospitals to report those costs to the state. But that shouldn’t deter immigrants from getting the care they need, county officials said. Source
The information is supposed to commence in November of this year. So, if he were expecting his MAGA boss to win, he would not be doing that.
Why are reporters so stupid?
Maybe the governor is stupid also, or maybe he is just being mean and cruel, as MAGAs are predisposed to being that way. Still, unless the undocumented are also homeless, they pay into the hospital district, as the tax is a property tax that is collected throughout Harris County.
So why aren’t the reporters or editorial “smart” people challenging the assumption that undocumented do not contribute to the cost?
Don’t worry about the undocumented about the reporting of the data.
Both parties are making the border a priority. I don’t know why the media assumes that all those documented are stupid. Lack of an education does not mean people are stupid or incapable of logical thinking. One can claim to be highly educated and still be as dumb as a rock. Donald Trump comes to mind.
