If she does have a primary opponent, I will be voting for the opponent. If she wins the primary she will not have my vote in the general election. I will not vote for the Republican, but she will not get my vote.
I had not forgotten that when the Latinos in the HISD Board were being attacked, Hidalgo mostly stood back but also participated in attacking them.
The final straw is her support of the HISD Bond. She may claim she stands with the children, but I find that hard to believe.
Proponents, including Hidalgo, the Greater Houston Partnership and many Houston ISD principals, say school improvements are much-needed regardless of district politics.
“I will continue to advocate for increased community involvement, meaningful engagement and, most importantly, the end of the TEA takeover,” Hidalgo said in a statement. “At the same time, I believe crucial investments are needed in our schools and cannot wait.”
