Hinojosa – Democratic Party should not have to apologize.

Texas Democratic Party Chair was called a transphobic for daring to speak the truth. Not saying something true does not make it different or change a fact to fiction.

“These aren’t comments made out of frustration. these are comments made out of unchecked transphobia. this is unacceptable leadership. resign,” Brigitte Bandit, a nonbinary drag queen who spoke at the state party’s convention this year, wrote on X.

Equality Texas, the state’s largest LGBTQ rights groups, also weighed in.

“It’s irresponsible and offensive that the long-standing Chairman of the Texas Democratic Party would try to hang the losses suffered statewide by Democrats around the necks of transgender Texans,” Interim CEO Brad Pritchett said in a statement. “There are more than 90,000 transgender people living in Texas. This is our state too. We need steadfast allies, not weak figureheads.”

Immigration and Transgender were the two issues that the Republicans used to win most of the swing states. Instead of calling out someone for telling the truth, they need to figure out how to prevent it from being the issue.

I noticed that the Gay community was not upset about the immigration comments that he made. So, do they deserve more or better protection than immigrants?

There is a chance that I will be labeled as transphobic, but it won’t be the first time and probably not the last time. We can not be afraid to speak or write what we believe is true because we fear being attacked verbally by making such statements.

I suggest that those who labeled Hinojosa as Transphobic come up with a solution as to how they will address the transgender issue in the future rather than throw darts at people who speak the truth.

From an article in Daily Kos:

I also think that some far-left activism was a serious liability. The Trump ad about Harris supporting taxpayer-funded transition surgery for prison inmates ran more than any other Trump ad because it worked

“Kamala is for they/them,” the ad said. “Trump is for you.” It was so patently absurd that it cut through the clutter and validated claims that Harris was too radical.

Yet rather than build public support over time, like the gay rights movement did with marriage equality—strategically, intentionally, and gently bringing people along—activists tried to berate and shame the public into agreement. “Latinx” is so idiotic, I can’t even—and neither can most Latinos. The new version, “Latine,” isn’t any better. Pretending that the border isn’t a problem was … a problem.

In Arizona, Harris won Latinos 55-42, while Rep. Ruben Gallego, en route to winning the state’s Senate seat, won them 61-37. Yes, he’s Latino and male, and that likely helped. But he also has been a vocal critic of Latinx and has been a border hawk. He knows how to focus aggressively on things that people are worried about, rather than try to make certain groups of people merely feel better.
