Baby killing the Texas way.

It does not take a mental genius to figure out that Texas laws on abortion would result in the abandoning of babies; often, those babies are found dead.

Abortion bans don’t just kill women. They kill babies. This is evident in the data, which shows a dramatic rise in the state’s infant mortality after Texas banned abortion. As the Washington Post documented last week, it’s also happening in a viscerally disturbing way, as the number of newborns found abandoned to die has spiked, as well. Babies, mostly dead, are being found in ditches and dumpsters throughout Texas, traumatizing the people who find them and the emergency workers who are called to help.

Only the biggest liars in the anti-choice movement — and to be fair, there’s stiff competition for that award — would deny that the state’s abortion ban is the main cause of the sharp increase in dead, abandoned babies. The Washington Post also notes that Republicans have repeatedly cut funding for prenatal care and family planning services. In addition, draconian approaches to illegal immigration have led to undocumented women avoiding medical care, for fear of being deported. The result is what one Texas law enforcement official called “a little bit of an epidemic” of infant abandonment.

I wrote back in August that it was happening and would probably get worse.

I imagine that the law prohibiting abortions has something to do with the increase of babies abandoned in dumpsters.

It would not surprise me if Abbott’s new executive order asking about immigration status increases the number of babies that are abandoned and never found.

Why would people present themselves knowing that they will know who placed that child in front of a fire station with cameras that monitor?

Sometimes I think people write about a lot of things that they know nothing about. They went to books to read about it or lived in “poverty” while not being poor, just like JD Vance writing about being poor, or all those other writers that did like wise.

I could not help but laugh when I read the following:

Circumstances are rarely known in abandonment cases. A victim of rape, domestic violence, incest? The reality is that parents are often scared to death to talk to anyone.

Maybe one of them is reading this.

Why did I laugh? Because I can’t picture a mother who abandons a baby like that reading an article that has a pay wall.

With Trump coming in and the scaring of people who are here illegally, it would not surprise me that it will lead to an even higher number of babies being abandoned. How many of the bodies of abandoned babies will never be found?

Well, the trailer had nothing to do with the article, but imagine what those abandoned babies thought as their lives ended.
