I don’t know if Texas democrats are stupid, weak or controlled by the rich?

Greg Abbott, the head of the MAGA snake in Texas, promises lower taxes, but not where it affects the taxes that go to the state, the Democrats stay silent and keep yelling what about abortion?

The best defense is a good offense; the Democrats need to go after the money that keeps the MAGA fascist-leaning leaders in power. Sales Taxes are how the state gets most of its cash; push to lower the sales tax and starve the beast from hell.

Property tax relief

Abbott referenced the legislature’s 2023 property tax relief cuts in his speech, while outlining plans for $10 billion in new relief this session. However, the governor added stipulations must be made to prevent municipalities from “loopholes” to raise taxes.

“No taxing entity should be able to raise your property taxes without two-thirds approval by voters,” he said. “No approval, no new taxes.”

When disasters occur, Texas benefits from our misery.

Sales taxes, sales taxes, sales taxes, and if tariffs are added, the sales tax paid goes up.

Inflation and sales taxes – the more the object costs, the more one pays in sales tax.

After Harvey, I received the insurance money for the damage to my house. I had to buy and pay sales taxes on all the new appliances, including a new air conditioner and compressor.

Texas has it rigged against the working people; they make money from our misery.

Billions and Billions of dollars of surplus money in the state coffers.

Sales taxes hurt the people with less money much harder than it does the MAGA money people.

Where is the “Tax Man” hiding? Why isn’t he pushing for the state of Texas to lower its taxes? Because he is in on it, spending our money as if they and only they know how best to spend our money. Paul Bettencourt is the “Tax Man.”

Texas’ Republican leadership wants to raise the taxes that consumers pay when they go shopping in order to lower the taxes that homeowners and business owners pay on their properties.

How would that work?

The state sales tax would rise from 6.25% to 7.25%, generating an estimated annual $5 billion in coming years. That would take the total sales tax in most cities to 9.25% because local governments can raise the sales tax an additional 2 percentage points. Supporters say a higher sales tax rate would generate enough revenue to buy down property tax rates by 20 cents per $100 valuation at a time when Texas homeowners and businesses are feeling squeezed by rising bills.

But raising the sales tax would cause poor Texans to pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes while the richest Texans and businesses are most likely to enjoy tax relief under the proposal.
