If Trump and his band of flunkies think white men make better soldiers why did they draft so many dang minorities during Vietnam?

They could have used all those tough white men as fodder for the Vietcong.

African Americans

• African Americans were more likely to be drafted than white Americans. 

Black Americans made up 16.3% of all draftees, and 23% of Vietnam combat troops.  Black troops faced discrimination within the military, and were disproportionately represented in combat roles.  Black troops had a disproportionately higher casualty rate. 

Hispanics

• Over 80,000 Hispanic Americans served in the war. 

A 1967 Ford Foundation study found that Mexican Americans made up 19.4% of all casualties, even though they made up only 13.8% of the Southwest’s population.  A study from Cal State Los Angeles found that Latinos made up about 20% of all U.S. troops killed in Vietnam

It is amazing how many white students dropped out of college after the draft lottery, especially if it placed them where they would not be drafted.
