One has to look no further than U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Houston: From Jeremy Wallace, Houston Chronicle.
“It was a mistake and we’ve got to move on,” Crenshaw said of the reporter being added. “If Secretary Hegseth says there was no classified information, I’ll take him at his word until I see otherwise.”
In the past, Crenshaw, a Navy veteran, has been one of the few Republicans to push back against Trump when it comes to national security issues. During Trump’s first term in office, Crenshaw openly opposed his decisions to pull troops from Syria and later Afghanistan.
But in this case, Crenshaw is giving the administration the benefit of the doubt, saying he didn’t see anything in The Atlantic’s reporting about the text exchange that rose to classified information being shared.
That’s a far different take than other Republicans on Capitol Hill, like U.S. Rep. Don Bacon, an Air Force veteran from Nebraska.
“I will guarantee you, 99.99% with confidence, Russia and China are monitoring those two phones,” Bacon told CNN’s Manu Raju on Tuesday. “So I just think it’s a security violation, and there’s no doubt that Russia and China saw this stuff within hours of the actual attacks on Yemen or the Houthis.”

We used to have men who stood up for our country, not the party they became puppets of. One has to look no further than the Great John McCain, for whom I proudly voted when he ran for president. There is no Republican that I would now support because of what the party has become.
