I have read the ordinance, but what the city will do makes me burst out laughing. I don’t know how many of you have ever called HPD’s non-emergency number ((713) 884-3131) to complain about loud noise in the middle of the night. I have often, if one is lucky, an officer may show up within two hours, but that only tends to happen on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On other days, people are lucky if they show up at all.
So when I read what the City of Houston is promising, I could not help myself from laughing.
If the ordinance is approved, the city will enforce several regulations for short-term rentals, including:
Noise and sound control
Building and neighborhood protectionWaste and litter management
Thanks to Trump, there is much less noise in the area now, as some noisemakers don’t want to attract the police. I wonder why? So, one positive thing that Trump has done for us.
Our neighborhood is the no parking in yard program. Getting officers here is almost impossible, so we spent a ton of time and some money to get into a program that recently, if we call 311, we are told that we are not in the program.
