I live in District J and John Whitmire has been screwing with our Council Member Edward Pollard by not allowing him to use the funds that all other district councilmembers are permitted to use.
I don’t understand why some white men can’t stand that a minority is better qualified or more competent than they are.
While Mayor Whitmire acts like a tiny, spoiled toddler, our community is being deprived of resources that the other districts are allowed to use.

  Friends, Each fiscal year, district council members receive $1M to spend in our districts called Council District Service Funds. These are discretionary dollars for projects, programs, and initiatives. Each project listed has gone through the city’s legal department and has been deemed a permissible use of tax dollars. Until this year, I have never had an issue getting anything approved. However, now the Mayor, who has final authority, is not approving many of my items. Why? I do not know. When I ask directly, I get no response. No other district council member is facing this issue. My constituents deserve to have their tax dollars put to use for a meaningful impact in their communities. I will continue to press. Together we will! Edward Pollard         |
