Democratic talking points and we wonder why we keep losing.

The talking points that were sent via email are below.

School vouchers, I don’t think that will get a lot of people excited enough to vote for Democrats. Polls do show that a majority of Texas voters are not in favor of vouchers. I don’t think that most people will care as long as the children have a school to go to. I know that many parents I have spoken to have chosen Charter Schools over public schools. So I don’t see how that would be an issue that would excite people.

Trump’s economy could be a winning issue, but I wonder if maybe it should be the price of eggs – that type of message. It certainly worked for the MAGA Party. I wonder how many people even know or recognize a “recession.”

Measles, I really don’t think that’s something that gets people all excited. The news media, TV, is certainly not bringing it up daily or even weekly. But now I understand why a blogger here in Houston keeps writing about measles. Guess he got the message before me.

School Vouchers:

  • Rural Texans get screwed on this bill since more than 150 counties in Texas have ZERO private school options.
  • School vouchers will blur the lines between church and state. School vouchers open the door to taxpayer dollars funding religious institutions, which many include religious teachings as part of their curriculum, with no oversight.
  • This bill is welfare for the rich, plain and simple. Working families are going to be the ones who will foot the bill for this voucher scam.
  • Republicans want to kill our public schools. All so their billionaire donors can make massive profits while everyday people fall further behind.
  • Republican lawmakers who were on the fence about the voucher bill have publicly stated that they only voted for it to avoid having their own bills killed or to stay out of the national spotlight.

Trump’s Economy Is Failing:

Measles:

  • Experts in the state are now saying that Texas Republicans’ failure to respond to the still-growing measles epidemic puts our state at “risk of threatening global stability.” Why won’t our GOP leaders throw their endorsement behind a statewide vaccination campaign?
  • Make no mistake: As this is going on, the CDC has laid off hundreds of workers – including many of the scientists tasked with helping state and local officials contain outbreaks like this one.
  • Vaccines save lives, and disinformation puts lives at risk. Instead of keeping their constituents informed on how to keep themselves and their families safe from this outbreak, Texas Republicans are – again – playing political games on vaccines.
