Since Harris County Government is controlled by Democrats and Houston has a MAGA mayor, MAGA State Senator Paul Bettencourt wants to help the MAGA mayor by stealing from the county to give to the city.
As Commissioner Garcia states in the video below, if the City wants to be reimbursed for police and fire services when they respond to emergencies on the toll roads, all they have to do is submit receipts for reimbursement. Nothing wrong with that, but we have a lot of highways that are the state’s responsibility. Why not have the state also reimburse the city for those emergency calls?

Below is how the MAGA propaganda machine works to push its agenda. They have the method down pat.
First, they never said the toll roads would be free after they were paid for, but they do admit that they are still paying off the money they borrowed.
Second, they create false arguments, such as we don’t know how they are spending the excess funds. Really, so the city that raises money in various ways should provide us with where and how that money is spent? They don’t do either, do most governments?
