Donald Trump (TACO) started his administration by flooding the zone, slowly many of the holes where the water (idiot’s ideas) have been plugged, and yesterday the Trade Court stopped him from levying almost all of his tariffs.
I expected him to lose, but not this soon. Many of the people behind the Judges in the federal courts were against the tariffs and have filed suit to stop them.
Watch what Trump and his minions do as they will try to change the narrative. I wrote some time ago that his goal is to become as wealthy as possible in the coming years, but others within his administration have much more devious plans in mind. Therefore, Trump’s response needs to be studied to determine which direction they are heading.
That decision on the tariffs also blows a big hole in the deficit-producing budget that the MAGA midgets passed.
But last night, three judges — appointed byRonald Reagan, Barack Obama and Trump himself — unanimously agreed that Trump exceeded his authority by claiming America’s long-standing trade deficit was a “national emergency,” and struck down the vast majority of Trump’s tariffs issued since Jan. 20. They said cash must be repaid to those firms who have already paid.
The ruling, by the U.S. Court of International Trade, nullifies Trump’s executive orders imposing 25 percent duties on Canadian and Mexican products and a 20 percent tariff on Chinese products in response to a purported national emergency on drug trafficking.
It also strikes down a 10 percent tariff imposed on all U.S. trading partners to address trade deficits, as well as Trump’s paused “reciprocal” tariffs of between 20 and 50 percent on 60-odd trading partners, which are now scheduled to go into effect on July 9 if foreign governments can’t reach a deal with the White House before then.
