Republicans have already deduced that Gina Hinojosa is the one to beat next November.

State Representative Gina Hinojosa has declared that she is running for Governor of Texas. Others have declared, but Republicans are already aiming at her. So expect the following to start soon.

Hinojosa has represented Austin in the Texas House since 2017, where she amassed a far-left voting record. She has been vocal in her opposition to school choice legislation and worked against legislation protecting children from sexually explicit materials in school libraries.

Thus far, as a Hispanic, I have decided to donate to two candidates for the 2026 election: Bobby Pulido and Gina Hinojosa. That list can expand as it is still early, and not all candidates have announced yet. I am hoping that a Hispanic will jump into the Harris County Judge position that Lina Hidalgo is leaving. There is no way that I would vote for Annise Parker; I would rather see a Republican there than her. Parker, in my opinion, has shown that she has no liking for the Hispanic community. If someone can prove me wrong, please let me know. Helping Hispanic gay men or women does not count.
