Forgotten Love a hidden gem, which I compare to Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables.

Les Misérables is one book I certainly recommend, as well as the non-musical movie. Forgotten love, while not an epic, is an incredible story about love with a happy ending. In these times, happy endings are good.

The best thing about Netflix is that most movies can be listened to in the language of one’s choice. This Polish movie, based on a book, offers at least a dozen languages to choose from. If you can enter the characters and the feelings, you can not help but shed a few tears with the actors.

The best way to describe the movie without giving away the plot and the ending is below.

“While Forgotten Love at times evokes tears with the delicacy of love forsaken, the film grounds itself in the reality of lost love and class warfare, to the dramatic extent that reconciliations might not happen, so determined is fate to deny happiness and, most of all, love.

Forgotten Love is one of the best international films of the year, satisfying our need for romance in art and leaving us happy to be human.”
