How much are our votes worth in this coming city election? Based on the number of mailers from the two remaining contenders, it must be at least $1,000.
There are four voters in my household, but one is presently in the military and was unable to vote in the run-off. But the last piece we received from Alejandra Salinas made me think about how much our votes are worth to candidates.
The following image of a four-page mailer, 11 x 17, would cost about $300 to print at a print shop near my house. On the same day, we also received an 8 x 11 mailer from Dwight Boykin, which costs a minimum of $100.
If the Supreme Court can allow billionaires and their companies to donate enormous amounts of money, why not let some of that be cash that goes directly into the pockets of voters?
I get tens of thousands of views yearly on my website; maybe they could throw a little more money this way. I am kidding about that; I don’t take money from anyone to promote them.
