This concerns a budget item on the City’s agenda today. Who is right? Whitmire, on the right, is correct that the Controller, Chris Hollins, approved it. He did that when he approved the city budget. It is in tiny print in the budget submitted last year.
Whitmire is not being honest about the houses affecting storm sewers, with a few exceptions. Chris Hollins went to the location where, allegedly, the building was the source of illegal dumping. See for yourself.
Chris Hollins is right that the funds will likely not be used to address flooding or storm sewers; see the video on the left.
A presentation indicates that the fund’s funds may be used for the first time to demolish buildings.
This link on page ten (1) indicates that the funds were not previously used to demolish buildings.
