People are disappearing from the streets of Houston, and people are scared to report them as they could become the next disappeared person, thanks to our cowardly mayor. With hundreds of people still there, Whitmire and most of the City Council got up and walked out. Whitmire rushed to tell Click2 how great a job he is doing and how much he cares.
Here is a video taken by an attendee at the meeting that shows the room was packed. They probably went to a room in the back to laugh and eat. I know what they do, having been a former chief of staff for a council member.
As one speaker told Mayor Whitmire, “If you refuse to play politics, get the fuck out of the game.” That can be stated to all Democrats running for office. This is not a time for timid people who have no problem kissing the asses of the Donald Trumps and Greg Abbotts.
Especially Democrats like Gina Hinojosa, yes, I see you on Facebook all the time, and I certainly get your request for money daily via email. I guess I shouldn’t have donated to your campaign. But you are not the only one, Gina. If you think you will be able to beat Greg Abbott by staying silent on the biggest historical event happening right now, then you are too dumb to run Texas. What is happening right now with ICE is what forced Lyndon Johnsion to not run for a second term. It was the Vietnam War at that time, today it is ICE, and the executions of Americans and non-residents with impunity. It is the incarceration of a five-year-old child by ICE and now in a detention camp where the methods used amount to torture, in my opinion. What did that five-year-old child do to merit such treatment? That torture chamber is in Texas, the only state to allow the incarceration of babies and very young children.
Watch and listen to how everyday Houstonians are responding to what is happening to our country and to our city under the administration of a MAGA mayor and the spineless city council members. Especially frustrating are the two brown-skinned council members, Joaquin Martinez and Mario Castro. Mario would rather spend time helping the Gay community than the brown community. Martinez is, in my opinion, too busy kissing Whitmire’s behind.

Mayor Whitmire chose to end the meeting two hours early; if he can’t take the heat, he needs to resign.
Really disappointed in all the council members, the mayor is a hideous person who masquerades as a caring person, but some of the council members know that they can give those speakers more time. They do it all the time for what they consider their concerns or their friends. They should all hang their heads in shame if they are capable of feeling shame. There was one exception: Edward Pollard did take the time to listen to those who were not heard.
There are several passionate speakers; the following four merit special attention, especially if you don’t want to hear speaker after speaker tell the mayor he needs to do something besides bending the knee to Greg Abbott.
Selected Speakers, actually watching the entire session is worthwhile, but at least you will listen and see that people are upset.
