They limit how much they can raise, they limit how they can raise, so that …

They limit how much they can raise and how they can raise it, so the cities have to rely on the state for everyday needs. A perfect example is how Greg Abbott, wanna be Hitler, is doing to Houston and a few other cities. It was all planned well in advance, but people don’t realize it until it is too late. The only way people who care about democracy can slow it down or maybe even stop it is by voting out all those corrupt people. Here in Texas, we are talking about the Republicans.

They may not know how to govern; they may help the rich, but they know how to win elections. No secret as to how they do it, as they slice a large share of what the wealthy have to pay to keep our country and governments working properly, they also throw bones at the rest of us to keep us happy.

Meanwhile, they keep enough of us looking at the ones at the bottom, making them the scapegoats, the lowlifes who are sucking all the milk from the country’s tits. They keep our eyes focused on them, so that those of us who work and pay taxes start blaming them and maybe even hating them. When it should not be them that we hate or dislike, but rather the Elon Musks or the Jeff Bezos of this world, who make billions and do not pay any taxes. This past year, Tesla paid zero taxes. I am retired on a pension and social security, and had to pay thousands in income taxes.

I am not sure if we can ever get out of that vicious circle, as it does not matter which party is in power, since the political members of both parties take the money from the rich.

Let us look at Talarico, which brought in $ 27 million in the first quarter of this year. Where did that money come from? A Dark Money Super-PAC.

New Yorker reporter Tad Friend posed a question for Texas Democratic Senate hopeful James Talarico as the two sipped red wine together for a recent magazine profile: If the Devil tempted you with a super PAC to handle the political dirty work for you, would you accept?

Citing the story of Jesus Christ resisting the Devil’s temptation as he fasted for 40 days in the wilderness as his inspiration, Talarico said he’d reject the alluring offer. “The central belief in my faith is that the means are the ends,” answered Talarico, who says he will ban super PACs in an “anti-corruption” package if he’s elected to the Senate. “If we lose, it would feel not great. But—but!—it’s the belief in the Resurrection, right? The belief that something beautiful would come out of this loss.”

Talarico is bought and paid for as far as I am concerned, but if he wins, he can prove me wrong. Yes, I will vote for him as the alternative will be worse. That is what we are left with: deciding which ones are worse and crossing our fingers that we voted right.
