A new U of H poll indicates that Annise Parker has an 18-point lead. A poll this close to an election is designed to help the person who is shown in the lead.
I am going out on a limb and say that the poll is wrong. How wrong is the question? I am sure that Hispanics are not coming out to vote in this election, at least not in large numbers. That is obvious to me by the voting numbers in predominantly Hispanic early voting locations. Early voting locations where large percentages of African-Americans live indicate that they are voting.
James Talarico was not running this time, but he lost, and it indicates to me that Talarico is a very weak candidate who will be eaten up alive by the MAGA machine. His behind-the-scenes billionaire supporters of Talarico won’t be able to pull the election for him. Not sure what he has promised them, but he won’t deliver, as he probably will not win.
Talarico does a Texas Two-Step with his answer to his billionaire supporters, that being;
Talarico’s campaign argues that 97% of contributions to his campaign account — which has raised over $40 million since he launched his campaign last fall — have come from small-dollar donors.
Let me tell you what that means in plain talk. 97 people gave me $1, and 3 people gave me $1,000,000 each.
There was an election in which Talarico chose to endorse a candidate in Congressional District 33. I am not sure why he chose to do that, but his candidate lost, and she lost bigly.
Talarico’s decision to get involved guarantees that he will lose Black Democratic voters. He had already lost some because his billionaire friends ran a racist campaign against Jasmine Crockett. He just compounded the problem with his ill-advised decision to go with the Gay-Candidate. The MAGAs are already spreading rumors that Talarico is Gay. I have no idea whether he is or isn’t, but I am fairly sure there are enough men who would think he is. Whittle a few votes here and there, and pretty soon they start adding up.
I will vote for Talarico, but I will do so hesitantly as I do believe he is responsible for the racist campaign that his billionaire friends ran against Crockett.
