Right now, it looks like Kamala Harris will lose, and the Senate has already been lost. We may have Trump as president and a Republican Congress and Senate.
Hispanics may have voted in much higher numbers for Trump and Republicans than Democrats were anticipating. I don’t blame them; they are the ones most heavily affected by the constant immigration of people coming here illegally. The way they see it, we are here, and they are not, but we don’t want any more competition.
COVID-19, when businesses were closed, hurt many small businesses, and many recent immigrants depend on them.
I wrote the following back in January of this year:
I cannot understand his lack of compassion for those here in this country who are already underpaid and overworked because of the constant influx of illegal immigration. Maybe he never had family members who were farm workers trying to get better pay only to have the companies bring in people from Mexico to do the jobs. I am pretty sure that Mr. Tacho even considers Cesar Chavez a hero of some sort. Well, what did Cesar Chavez think about the use of such workers?
I questioned whether having African Americans on top of the ticket could drive Latino voters away. It seems that may have happened.

One of the things that I noticed is that Collin Allred did not use Latinos or Latinos in his ads. If he did, I certainly did not notice them, and my wife keeps the TV on Spanish all day, so I have heard and seen many of his commercials. Well, Allred did not do as well as Beto. While I criticized Whitmire often and still do, he was smart enough to do almost all of the commercials that were on Spanish TV using Latinos or Latinas. Guys, if you want to pander to Latinos, don’t give us pictures of a black man and a white woman. Believe me, the Raza is just as racist as any other group.
Republicans mainly stuck to two issues: Transgender and illegal immigration. It seems that they were winning issues.
Many white people are scared of becoming second-class citizens. I don’t blame them; they probably think they will be treated the same way they used to treat us. It is obvious that abortion was not a winning issue for the Democrats in Texas or several other states.
If Trump does win, one of the things he will immediately do is put on a show by going to workplaces and rounding up people who are here illegally. You can put a crying child begging for her father, but it will not change too many minds other than those who can afford to have empathy. Feeding and housing their family comes first.
I was alive when Operation Wetback took place, so I guess that I will witness Operation Wetback II.
I am the Democratic Precinct Chair for 425 and did what I needed to do. Currently, Trump has 147 votes, and Harris has 276 votes (34% Trump, 66% Harris). But this is my last year.
The Republicans are doing well county-wide, with many of the judge’s seats currently in the Republicans’ hands. I noticed that judges with Spanish surnames were doing slightly better—the vote for someone like me principle (Racism).
The sun will rise tomorrow, and the Democrats can return to the drawing board.
We could have lost or won if we had just stuck with Biden. I was against Biden being pushed out. I believe Biden would have done better than Harris, but we will never know.
