I have heard that Oscar Gonzales, a Latino, is running for County Judge. Friends have told me that he has signs posted in the East End and North Side. Why not Oscar Gonzales, Adrian? You have a PAC that sends out flyers asking me to support Latinos. So why send out those mailers when you are full of it and can’t even be neutral when we have at least one Latino running? You are supporting a Latinx for the city council who happens to be a lesbian.
Finally looked up Gonzales, I don’t support Republicans. If I did, I would be voting for Orlando Sanchez. All Republicans must pledge loyalty to the Trump Party. Trump, if those Hispanic Republicans haven’t realized it, has put a bullseye on our back.
The deadline for candidates for next year’s primary has not even arrived, and Commissioner Garcia is jumping on Annise Parker’s bandwagon. The only question I have is why?
Since when does supporting LGBTQ agendas and softball become a “Moderate” position? Only a Houston Chronicle reporter would be so bold as to call it a moderate position.
Garcia and Parker have both come to occupy the moderate wing of the county’s Democratic party. The pair is aligned on issues ranging from support for the LGBTQ community to prioritizing disaster resilience and strengthening the county’s support networks in the face of increasing attacks from conservatives at the state and federal level.
That link leads to a paywall, but it has to do with Adrian Garcia voting in favor of spending half a million dollars of our tax dollars on a gay softball league.
Brown skinned citizens are being detained because of the color of their skin and the language they may speak. Still, Adrian Garcia wants to support a candidate who has never done anything constructive for the Hispanic community.
If one searches for what Annise Parker did for the Hispanic Community, one gets the following.

I live in that district, and that headline is a farce. The first elected council member for that district was openly gay. I liked that council member, and he was outstanding in constituent service. I have always maintained that District J was explicitly created to elect a specific gay candidate to the city council. District J has to this day not had Hispanic representation.
Lane Lewis
Lane Lewis represents what I believe is the majority of the gay community in Houston. A disdain, if not hate, for the Hispanic community. I think that they find us impotent politically and not worthy of gay support, unless we kiss their ring and promise fidelity to their agenda. How is that different from the MAGA cult?
I still recall when DREAMERS wanted to meet with Lane Lewis, the Harris County Democratic Chair. Lane Lewis not only did not meet with them, but he also locked the doors to the Democratic Party headquarters.
Lewis then contacted two of his mentors, Houston City Council Member Annise Parker and local queer advocate Ray Hill, to discuss what he thought he had found and to seek their opinion about reaching out to Katine. “This case belonged to the community, and I wanted to make sure I had the advice of others,” says Lewis. Parker and Hill agreed that Mitchell Katine was the way to go.
“Mitchell never failed to fight for our community,” Hill told OutSmart in a 2018 interview. “He was fearless when it came to protecting human rights. Mitchell is also brilliant, and had all the smarts it would take to win this case in the highest court in the land. There was never any question.”
Where is the LGBTQ community in standing up for what is happening to my brown skinned brothers and sisters? They are silent and more concerned with whether the Supreme Court will start removing some of the rights that they have recently gained.
Support qualified Hispanics, male and female, but ask them if they will stand up for the Hispanic Community.
Birds of a feather, MAGAs in disguise
