Only took the Harris County Democrats two years to figure out that John Whitmire was not really one of them. I was a strong supporter of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee. I was so disappointed when I went to a Democratic Club I belong to and saw almost half of them wearing John Whitmire for Mayor T-shirts. Most of them are now against Whitmire and his policies of appeasement to Abbott and Trump. Whitmire claims that by being submissive and kissing their rings, Houston has avoided the National Guard scenarios unfolding across the country. Well, no city that I am aware of in the State of Texas has seen the National Guard or even ICE. Some Texas cities have stood their ground against Abbott. Whitmire is full of it.
I did indeed write enough warnings to Houstonians, telling them that Whitmire was more aligned with the Republican Party than with the Democratic Party. I guess better late than never. Whitmire had some coattails; he brought in three Republicans with him to the at-large positions.
A Google search from that search bar above can verify that I warned Houstonians about Whitmire. I even made a short video. I don’t make many videos because I love my t-shirts and hate shaving more than once every two weeks. Never could figure out why wearing suits was so important; it certainly did not make me any smarter. Maybe it made people think I was smarter?
