If you want to know my opinion on Leslie Briones, here it is. I didn’t support her when she first ran in the Democratic Primary; she wasn’t my first choice, and I haven’t been surprised by her since. I think the worst part was when I attended one of her listening sessions. Stupid me thinking that it meant she would listen to her constituents and maybe respond to some of our concerns.
Leslie Briones has over $4,000,000 in campaign contributions, but she spends taxpayers’ money promoting herself.

She will probably win, but she shouldn’t. I swore I wouldn’t vote for anyone with an R in front of their name. But that doesn’t mean I will vote for someone like Briones, who seems to lack common sense or principles. Not long ago, I was Democratic Precinct Chair, but I left because I didn’t want to belong to Team Blue, regardless of the candidate they put up.
I am not the only person who normally promotes Blue that feels that way, Lina Hidalgo;
But if Leslie Briones keeps making news like the story of her use of taxpayers’ money, who knows, there may be a November surprise. For the Record, Steve Radack was a great County Commissioner. I once called his office to complain about something, and imagine my surprise when Steve Radack called me back. I tried to contact Leslie Briones. I couldn’t find an email address to do that, and when I found something close, someone responded that it wasn’t the right place to file a complaint.
Briones, if you want to promote yourself, do so, but do it with the money those millionaires and those seeking contracts gave to you. Maybe next time you have a listening session, you will sit down and listen rather than talk, then leave after you finish your little speeches.
I have always considered myself an Independent; that means that there should not be an Independent Party, as that defeats the purpose of being Independent. But until Trump is gone and the Republican Party returns to almost normal, I will continue voting for the Blue team most of the time.
