Some of us were protesting and marching in the 60s for equal rights, we put our bodies on the line knowing that we could be arrested or worse for doing what we were doing. I felt strongly enough to risk that, and it paid off; my young siblings had opportunities that were not available to me. Many of those recent immigrants enjoyed those opportunities because we dared to protest for equality.
