I am not surprised that the Hispanic leadership here in Houston has not criticized him. Too many of them owe their political careers to him. Before running for office, almost without exception, they went to kiss the Don’s ring.
Should we unite behind Talarico? Probably, but personally, I would rather wait for a better candidate, preferably a Hispanic. The Republicans will have a field day with Talarico. I hope that Gina can help carry Texas for Democrats.
In many of the photos of Gina and Bobby, you can find Talarico-like gum stuck to them. He used them because they would have done what they did regardless of whether Talarico was at the top of the ticket.
It is the name; it would not surprise me that the vast majority of Latinos thought they were voting for a Latino. When I first saw the name (Talarico), it sounded Spanish but unusual, so I looked it up, it is Italian.
Never under estimate how stupid people are or how resourceful they can be.
I don’t care for James Talarico; I see a fake man pretending to be a caring man. Would not surprise me if he turns out to be like Fetterman, looking at the next election and realizing he must be more MAGA to win the next election. But I will vote for him because, if nothing else, it takes the Senate away from the Republicans. That is very important because it could mean appointments to the Supreme Court.

Shit happens in the middle of doing this. A strong storm rolled in, and I lost power. There were so many surges that I believe that half the breakers on my electrical panel will need replacing. I had to connect wires to outlets that were working for my refrigerator, internet, and this computer. At least I did not need to get my generator working.

I recall being lured back to Walmart when it advertised that it would sell primarily American-made products. That didn’t last long. I don’t visit Walmart very often. Prefer to spend my money at places that pay and treat their workers better, such as Cotso and HEB in my area.
